The Glass Jug

Still life oil painting of a red glass jug by Helen Davison

‘Glass Jug’

While I was making bread today, I set myself the challenge of painting this unusual glass jug in the time it took to prove the dough and cook it.

It’s more of an experiment in texture and reflection than a particularly considered composition, and after I took the photo I decided to scrub it out. I might have been a little hasty, as I rather like this little picture now I look at it again. Never mind, I will revisit the subject and see how the next version develops.

In other news, after a series of bread disasters, today’s loaf turned out very well.
