‘Into the Light’



This is the third painting I made of this set-up (the other two were write-offs and wiped away). Each time I over-thought and over-worked things. While you can see how thin some of the paint is in this final version, it is by far the most successful in conveying a sense of atmosphere and space. I set myself a time limit and used larger brushes, thinking very particularly about keeping edges soft in areas outside of intended focal points.
